In the diagrams below, ES represents Easystreet, FX identifies Fortix and PT the Pittock Block Building
Transit & Offsite Backup
"K" wants 10 MBPS transit from Easystreet 10 MBPS for backup at Fortix. Costs:
- $100 FE Port (plus hosting and local circuit cost)
- $50 VLAN to Easystreet
- $50 VLAN to Fortix
Transit & Telework Support
"H" wants 10 MBPS transit from "N" and 10 MBPS for cross connect DSL-connected teleworkers
- $100 FE Port (plus hosting and local circuit cost)
- $50 VLAN to Easystreet (cross connect to CLEC, circuit are additional)
- $50 transit VLAN to "N"
Data Center & Remote Office Connection
"Z" wants 100 MBPS to data center at Fortix and 20 MBPS to remote office in Seattle
- $150 GE Port (plus hosting and local circuit cost)
- $300 VLAN to Fortix
- $100 VLAN to "Z-SEA" via CLEC (separate charge)
Internet2® Access**
"E" wants 20 MBPS to Internet2
- $100 FE Port (plus hosting and local circuit cost)
- $100 VLAN to PREN (PREN cost for Internet2 additional)
**Access to Internet2 networks, including the Abilene Network is restricted by membership and use policies set forth by the Internet2 organization.
Diverse Internet Access
"D" wants wants fully diverse and redundant transit from two networks:
- 10 MBPS Port and VLAN on the Red network for $100
- 100 MBPS Port and 20 MBPS VLAN on the Blue network for $200
- Network automatically reroutes in the event of fiber cut so two transit feeds are maintained. No single points of failure, since the red and blue networks are fully independent and parallel.
Virtual Health Network
Tagged VLAN creates a virtual health network connecting multiple healthcare providers
Virtual network provides better privacy, security and access to shared services and data
